Upper Arm Lift

Brachioplasty

When you lose large amounts of weight, unfortunately, this can mean you're left with excess, hanging skin. When the skin around your arms is stretched over a long period of time, it will not always be able to tighten back up once the excess fat is lost. An arm lift with Dr. Kalnoki can help to remove this excess skin and tissue for sexy, toned arms.

Arm Lift and You

Is an Arm Lift a Good Fit for You?

An arm lift is a body sculpting procedure intended to remove excess, sagging skin around the upper arms due to factors such as:

  • Massive weight loss
  • Pregnancy
  • Aging

Diet and exercise are not enough to reverse problems with skin elasticity and surgery is necessary to provide your arms with the contours that you desire. It is important that you are healthy and at a stable weight when considering an arm lift. If you are also dealing with small amounts of difficult-to-lose fat in the area, Dr. Kalnoki also can perform a small liposuction procedure to remove this fat during your arm lift surgery.

An arm lift can be combined with other body contouring treatments to address loose or sagging skin in other areas of the body. Dr. Kalnoki may recommend surgeries such as a:

  • Tummy Tuck
  • Thigh Lift
  • Male Breast Reduction
  • Liposuction

The goal of the arm lift is to provide you with the appearance of naturally toned arms so that you don't have to struggle with the embarrassing flaps of skin.

What You Can Expect from Your Arm Lift Surgery and Recovery

For your arm lift, Dr. Kalnoki will administer a general anesthetic to help you sleep through the entire surgery. She will begin the body sculpting procedure by making an incision on your upper arm, using the natural contours of your body to conceal incision lines. From there, she will reshape the underlying tissue and remove any excess fat using liposuction. The skin is carefully pulled tight for a smooth appearance, and any excess skin is removed before the incisions are closed.

It will take just a few days for you to be able to return to work after your surgery. Make sure to avoid any lifting or activity for a few weeks until your arms feel back to normal. You will notice a change in the look of your arms almost instantly and any bruising or swelling will fade over time. The "wings" that you once struggled to hide will be gone as you are left with toned, slim arms.
