Breast Implant Revision
Breast augmentation continues to rank as the most popular procedure in the United States. Dr. Kalnoki strives to provide each one of her patients with ideal breasts. For women looking to revise or maintain the results of a past breast augmentation, Dr. Kalnoki also performs breast revision surgery.
Breast Implant Revision and You
Is Breast Revision Surgery a Good Fit for You?
Breast implants are not meant to last forever. As your body continues to change with age, a breast augmentation that was performed in your thirties may not yield the same look in your forties.
Breast revision surgery is a good fit for women who:
- Are looking to address changes in the body caused by aging
- Want to increase/decrease the size of their implants or a new shape
- Want to switch from saline to silicone (and vice versa) or upgrade to a newer implant
- Need to replace a defective breast implant
- Need to correct issues with breast asymmetry or symmastia
During your consultation with Dr. Kalnoki, she will listen carefully to your goals and expectations. A customized treatment plan will be developed in order to achieve your unique look.
What to Expect from Your Breast Revision Surgery and Recovery
Because you have already had a previous breast augmentation, your breast revision procedure will be fairly familiar. Dr. Kalnoki will use the same incision locations to remove your existing breast implants. She will then work to fix any specific issues with the breasts. A breast lift can also be performed at this time to address any sagging or drooping that may have occurred with your breasts. Your new implants are then put into place and your incisions are closed.
Recovery from your revision surgery will be similar to that of your augmentation procedure. You should be able to return to work in about one to two days, but avoid high levels of activity for about a month.
Over time, you will notice the new changes in your breasts. The results of your breast revision surgery will provide you with a beautiful feminine figure that lasts.
